Sleepless in Sonoma (Co.)

I spent a sleepless night worrying about Tim’s brother. That and a crazy fussy baby. (Is it her teeth? She’s getting her first two but she seemed extraordinarily uncomfortable and cried every hour or so.)

Anyway, forget the baby. That’s not what I’m trying to talk about. One of Tim’s brothers has recently developed some startling and serious health problems. The kind that involve biopsies, stents and extra-special specialists.

This brother, like all of the brothers, is a father to young children.

Barbara, Tim’s mom, is highly involved in these grandchildren’s lives.

The brother will likely need to undergo a long and complicated surgery in the near future.

Our trip is in the near future.

Can you see where this is going?

Obviously the chance of Barbara coming with us is almost nil. We’ll have to find out more before deciding if we need to stay home, too.

By the way, please erase from your memory that bit in my last post about feeling sorry for myself for having to pack and prepare for five weeks away from home. I’d like to save “feeling sorry for myself” for bigger things, like what Tim’s poor brother is going through.
